Pleased with group learning

Analytical - evaluate while learning

Imaginative

Caught trying to determine limits

Talkative

Able to see humor

Rule bound

Help students cut work down into bite-size pieces.

Provide students with criteria for school projects to help them meet your expectations.

Tie in the processes and accomplishments of adults when appropriate. For example, share a writing tip from a famous author.

Allow students to work in cooperative groups. Place desks in clusters.

Help students anticipate the reactions of an audience and revise their writing or other work accordingly.

Introduce many writing forms.

Provide plenty of outdoor or gym time. Short breaks are more productive than longer ones.

Put on an end-of-year performance to demonstrate learning.

Whenever possible, allow students to learn skills through the use of board games.

Teach problem solving and conflict resolution techniques.

Make charts or "to do" lists to help students keep on track.

Create and post classroom rules.
